ETC 2019 - INFORMATION THREAD

#1 by TOM A , Sat Sep 01, 2018 10:34 pm

Location:
Master Hall
Hajduk Veljkova 11
Novi Sad, Serbia

Dates confirmed:
August 9-11 for ETC proper, ESC's on August 7-8.

Transport shuttle:
Will be available from the airport. We will probably have a dedicated ETC 2019 booth/stand so you can easily find the transport group and sign up. You can pay on the spot for transport and we can arrange transport by car/shuttle or bus depending on group sizes. There will probably be waiting times to fill out shuttles/busses so if you do not want some waiting time you can always opt to use regular transportation/taxi services.

Referee Budgets:
We have upped the ETC referee budget to acocomodate for needs. For international referees we can provide up to 200 reimbursement of travel expenses and free accommodation on site as well as food and drinks.

2019 Event Pricing:
-3 day ETC tournaments: 50 without food, 65 with food; coaches and non playing staff pays 20/35 depending if they want food or not.
-2 day ETC tournaments: 35 without food, 45 with food; non playing 15/25 depending on food option.
-singles 2-day; 25/35
-singes 1-day: 15/20

We will be working with a deadline for payments. Late payments will see an extra charge of 10% as it gives us all sorts of logistical nightmares and we want to discourage people signing up at the last moment.

Food update:
Upon demand, for all players, food will be optional in ticket pricing.
We are still sorting out food options and hope to have an update soon regarding the catering and what will be on offer. Gastro Planet is our caterer of choice.
There will be two meals available per day, on a first come first serve basis. There will be plenty, but if one meal runs out thats going to be that. We will be serving them in two 'shifts' so all systems will have the choice out of the two meals. Each meal will be budgeted at 5.

We will be able to cater to vegans and vegetarians, so if there's any on your team, get in touch by sending me a PM here or on the ETC events facebook page.

Players can opt in on the day itself for food, but only if there is food left. You want to make sure you have food on site, best sign in up front. Our first concern will be for the people that have signed in ahead of time.

Draft Schedule:
Let us know if you see any issues, have any comments, or would like to spearhead organizing additional events!
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1EHU4sY...FY-IFEfovftY686

2019 Sponsors:
Will be announced soon.

Tourneykeeper registration:
All events have been added and should be open for registration! Let us know if issues arise! For the team events we will manually add all the teams so for now focus should be on subscribing to the singles events as the Team events need to be sorted by admins first.

2019 Event packs:
Working on all the drafts as we speak, they will be put online before the end of the month.

2019 Website:
Will be launched soon with all the info readily available.

2019 Guided Tours:
For those wanting to head in early or stay in late for some family time, we are organizing some tours by a professional tourguide around Serbia and Novi Sad. All info will be available on the website soon.

A religious celebration/holy day should have absolutely no bearing on when the ETC is held.

Please keep fantasy/"make believe" to the games we play, not to matters that can influence when we play.

versuscorp - unfortunately the dates have been set while ago and I believe a captain's vote was done to agree on the dates.

REPLY
I am afraid this was very much part of the bid for the event, you missed the opportunity to raise this problem when the bids were submitted.

Looking forward to 2020 I believe the relevant date moves forward about 11 days from 11 August to 31 July so if a bid for the ETC is proposing an early date you should raise the issue with the bidder/wider community.

I am not religious myself so if I have got the dates wrong please feel free to correct me.

I understand the date moves approx 11 days forward each year so this will not have been a problem before and if 2020 is not a problem for you then it is unlikely to be a problem in the foreseeable future.

Whilst this will not be an issue for most of the players as the Muslim Religion is in the minority in Europe I would prefer to see the event as inclusive as possible and hope the 2020 bidders will try to avoid an awkward date, albeit availability of venues is not always that flexible.

As we are gearing up, we would like all those interested to put some streams/coverage of the event in place to get in touch via our event email address: etcnovisad@gmail.com with a quick word about what you want to do and would need from us so we can start coordinating!

T9A finishing later every day is a little offputting - we would like to be able to go for meals afterwards, and it is less convenient to not get away until 8pm.

Agreed it would be great if we could rotate a late finish with 40k so it's not always late finish. At least the first two days - one each. The last day with the presentation not as relevant.

Cheers

Historically speaking, Im pretty sure 40k have always finished last.

Not asking much for other systems to take a turn being the late finishers

Why speak historically? Why not vary it within this event? The aim is for everyone to enjoy this year after all.

Just stating how its been.

I'm sure T9A have enjoyed nice early finishes in previous years, with 40k happy to accept the organisers timetables without kicking up a fuss.

I don't think it's kicking up a fuss to give feedback on the schedule, when asked for feedback, and suggest that a balance could be achieved within the event.
