Hi gales and guys,
Quick rulespack questions/clarifications (pairings and rules) :
1. When do “postures” are actually revealed (Attack/Manoeuvre/Defend), and how ?
Do Captains attribute a posture to each of their lists, at the beginning of the round (when they know which Team they will face), then reveal simultaneously them to their opponent, then Captains proceed to the pairings procedure ?
Or is it done differently ?
2. Free For All and Dust Up (a.k.a “meeting engagements”), who is the Attacker ?
Do we still need to roll a die for who is Attacker, or is it determined through Pairings ?
We understand that if a “Attack” list is matched up with a “Manoeuvre” or “Defend” list, the “Attack” list will be the Attacker (including in FFA and DU), and so on as per rulespack ETC. In case of tie, a dice is rolled as usual to determine Attacker/Defender.
Otherwise, there is no point in attributing the “postures” in FFA and DU…
This has some kind of influence considering the lists in ETC who gain special bonuses while being “Attacker” (who said the Japanese ?).
Are we right ?
3. Dust Up : determining the Reserves.
Contrary to V3, it is not determined in the scenario who goes first when determining Reserves/On Board troops.
Is it simultaneous (both players write it down, then reveal at the same time) ?
Or the Attacker states first, then the Defender states second ?
Again, this has some kind of influence in the game…
Cheers from France,
